The old Victorian barns in the farmyard at Higher Torr were converted in 2005/2006 into four extremely attractive holiday cottages : Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Hazel and Maple.
Each cottage has been fitted with contemporary kitchens, warm wooden furniture and modern bathrooms.
Double bedrooms have 5ft beds in Blackthorn and Hawthorn: Four posters in Hazel and Maple.
Bed linen and towels, electricity and central heating are included in the cost of rental.
Cot, High Chair and Stair gate available on request.
Outside and under cover play area includes Snooker/poole table, table-top football, table tennis, swings and slide. Basket Ball. Football area with net.
Each cottage has its own patio with picnic table and rotary washing line.
Car Parking space reserved for each cottage with overflow parking area.

Maple =

Ideally suitable for wheelchair use : ground floor bedroom with en suite wet room.
Ground floor:
Entrance from its own self contained garden/patio area to front door. Kitchen incorporates fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, hob and extractor fan. Large dining table and chairs. This room leads through to open spacious lounge. Luxurious leather suite, TV and DVD player, books and board games. Coat hanging rack. Groundfloor cloakroom. Hallway with cupboard understairs, Zanussi washer/drier. Ground floor double bedroom with ensuite wet room.
First floor:
Large master bedroom affording "fantastic" views of the South Devon countryside to the west. Ensuite bathroom with over head shower.
Twin bedroom with ensuite shower room.

HAWTHORN
Sleeps up to 6. Dogs accepted.
Main entrance leads up two steps into the first floor of this split level cottage. Coat hanging rack and entranceway leads off to the left to the lounge. Leather sofas, TV and DVD player, woodburner and logs. Large kitchen/dining room with electric oven, hob and extractor fan, microwave, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and fridge freezer. French doors open out to a small patio looking out to pasture land which is sometimes grazed by the farm animals.
From the main entranceway, turn right to a twin room with ensuite shower room.
Downstairs to a twin room, private bathroom with overhead shower. Understairs storage cupboard for hoover etc. Master bedroom with ensuite shower room.
Large patio receives morning and afternoon sunshine with views to the farm and Dartmoor.

HAZEL
Sleeps up to 4. Regret no dogs.
Ground floor entrance into hallway. Twin bedroom, bathroom with overhead shower. Master bedroom with ensuite shower.
Stairway in the centre of this cottage leads to the First Floor and Open plan living area. Luxurious sofas to relax in front of the woodburning stove [supply of logs], TV and DVD player. Spacious dining area looking out through magnificent picture windows to the views of Dartmoor 15 miles to the north and the panoramic countryside. Newly fitted contemporary kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, hob and hood, washer/drier and Smeg fridge/freezer. Superb wooden floor with rugs give this cottage a warm cosy "home from home" atmosphere.
Self contained patio at ground floor level affords views of the farmland to the west, receiving the morning and evening sunshine.

MAPLE
Sleeps up to 4. Accept well behaved dogs.
First floor entrance to the characteristic features of an open planned living area. Comfortable sofas afford an atmosphere of peace and charm, in front of the Woodburning stove (supply of logs) TV and DVD player in this cosy cottage. Newly fitted kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, hob and hood, washer/drier and Smeg fridge/freezer.
Stairs down to ground floor and hallway with understairs cupboard. Master bedroom with ensuite shower.

The Patio is at the entrance to the cottage, at first floor level, with views of the pastureland to the east and Dartmoor to the west.
